Inner workings of the six year old mind

To Santa she says nothing.  The running commentary from behind my driver's seat today was
"you should give the girl a nickname.  You could call her Sally. That's what you should do.  Oh did that girl die?  Remember in the morning when you said Ailish died and everyone cried really really hard cause we were really really sad?  Pink and blue make purple.  So do red and blue make purple.  Lots of colours make purple"

Decorating gone too far?

Decorating gone too far?

Listen if your kid has to be dead and you are forced to go on then you have to make the best of things.

This is it.  This is Ailish's Christmas outfit.  No more dresses, tights or black patent shoes.  No more long flowing hairstyles with glitter added for the Season.

It is her second Christmas missed but I'm not sure if it is any harder than every day she has missed.

I would like to say Ailish should not have missed any days before my time had come but I know that would be wrong.  The child lived as long as she was supposed to.  She lived as well as she was supposed to.

It is our loss.  It is us that miss her.  Hopefully she is living bigger and better than what I could have ever dreamed for her.

Why so glum Chum?

Why so glum Chum?  Look at you all sad faced.  Tell me what the problem is.

Well your efforts are appreciated and all and I love how you thought it would be easier for me to access all the things I like to chew and destroy...it's just that....well...um.....you forgot to hang underwear and socks on there.  You know how I like those!  The idea of this chew tree is amazing and I don't mean to seem ungrateful but if I could ask that the problem be rectified?  In the meantime there's a glass ball with my name on it!

Ballerina Dreams

It was viewing day at dance.  The six year old who has cerebral palsy takes part in a dance class that has other dancers with the same.  Recruited as volunteers are older dancers from the studio.  Everyone has a great time and in fact it is the first organized activity that Malia has not been oppositional or defiant in.  Can you say HOLLA!!
having the vision impairment as well makes trying to follow by example very difficult.

Soo loves the older helpers

dance gallop.  The tongue makes all the difference

checking to see if I am watching the awesome gallop she is doing

I am in love with this picture!

Rescue me. Please?

Rescue me!  Please!  I am not a Christmas tree!  Is there a rule stating that rescue dogs actually have to come from a shelter?  If there is could someone hook me up with one of those no kill kind?  I would really appreciate it.  Maybe one around Beverly Hills or wherever those Hollywood types rescue animals from?  I could so see myself living in Hollywood!  Where's Simon Cowell when a dog needs him?  He's always sending people to Hollywood surely I am beautiful and certainly talented enough to go.  I can eat socks and stuffed toys waay better than anybody else.  I can totally do my bizness where I'm supposed to (well most times...ok sometimes) and heck it only took me ten minutes to sit still for this picture!  Oh I should add that I have wicked skilz at irritating people.

There it's settled.  Rescue me and take me in your arms.  Rescue me, something something something charms..... What do you expect?  I'm a dog not a singing chimp!

Put Up or Shut Up!

We are worthy, we are exceptional, we are capable.  We are energetic, motivated and experienced. We are love personified, accepting unconditionally.  I say these words about us as a family of 14 (incl me).  I have grown weary of campaigning to raise a child I know we are more than ready for and who so desperately needs us or anyone in fact that is ready to fight for her.

Folks in authority and those who stand in judgement of large families....if you don't like how many children I have then for love of all things holy put your own hand up in the air and say you will do it.  You will raise the child whom society has deemed unlovable and unworthy.  If you cant do that then please allow those of us who want to and can, to do so!  Phew!  I needed to get that off my chest....for the one millionth time in my parenting journey.

Take action

"We are not all called to adopt these children into our families. But we are all called to look at them, even though it makes our eyes burn, and be willing to let their needs disrupt our lives."
